Will it hurt my chances of getting a job now that I’ve been laid off?

If you were laid off due to a plant closing, down sizing, merger, or any other reason beyond your control don’t be embarrassed.  There are hundreds of thousands of people in your situation.  Take credit for the job you had and share information about the accomplishments you had while there.

What if I really don’t want the job after the interview?
